Tension rising, chaos brewing and waiting to unfold, hot steaming air floating over receding hairlines as men prepare speeches to explain why images frozen in time of their dearly beloved partners are not presently gracing their columns on the world center of judgy eyes and monitoring spirits called social media.
Sitting pretty, feet tapping patiently on her three seater couch is Abigail holding her phone, watching with scrutiny every blue circled bubble on WhatsApp waiting to see a beautiful, right angle, carefully taken picture of herself in all her glory. Seeing as it is now past mid day and she is yet to catch a glimpse of herself on anyone's status, her breathing changes...heavy and hard.
Kunle for the hundredth time today ignores Dara as she frantically persists to call him endlessly. Why you may ask? She received a call from their mutual friend asking her how she was doing and why she didn't inform anyone she and Kunle had recently got married. Dara, dazed with confusion asks "married? To who?". The nosey outsider (mutual friend) proceeds to narrate her shock upon seeing Kunle's status and the picture of a plump rounded chick who in her opinion looks pregnant. She added that she thought the pregnancy changed her looks hence her conclusion it was Dara. If that was the only information, then all hell would not have broken loose.
Sadly this loose canon kept on rolling, she added that kunle's message (text) under the picture was so heart felt and touching, he described their love in deep words that melted her heart and she went on to say their love story was enviable. At this point Dara stops to look at her tummy. The flat-as-a-chopping board belly gently rose and fell with every breath she now took in disbelief that her sweet man has had her as a side piece all along.
On the other hand, sam is wondering what could have gone wrong with his network service as Angela's number is unreachable. He remembers speaking with her this morning before going to work and after his morning meetings he had texted her. The one tick appeared to show the message was sent but somehow it's yet to deliver. No response, no answer, silent like a grave yard... "could she have another man? No! Angela? My sweet babe? Nahhh must the the network".
Poor Sam loosens his tie as beads of sweat now gather on this forehead , nose tip and chin. His chubby cheeks vibrate as he blows out air of frustration...tensed, anxious, he restarts his device "this should help" he says to himself, little does he know ...his angela isn't truly his after all.
